On August 23, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh had a phone call with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique Manuel José Gonçalves.
The Ukrainian diplomat noted gradual progress in the development of bilateral contacts between the highest political leadership of the two countries.
The sides discussed the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for international peace and security.
Maksym Subkh explained the details of the Ukrainian Peace Formula aimed at restoring a comprehensive, fair and lasting peace in Ukraine.
The Special Representative of Ukraine invited the Republic of Mozambique to join the implementation of the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as to participate in the International Crimean Platform.
The sides also discussed the issues of expanding the bilateral legal framework in such areas as agriculture, IT, industry, etc.
The Mozambican diplomat highly praised the decision of the Ukrainian leadership to open the Embassy of Ukraine in Maputo. He noted that the Mozambican side is ready to provide maximum assistance to achieve this goal.
Manuel Gonçalves also expressed support for the people of Ukraine, who are suffering from the Russian aggression, and assured of the support of Mozambique, in particular as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, for all international efforts aimed at restoring peace, stability and development of Ukraine.
