The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held the Third video meeting of the focal points network of the International Crimea Platform member states

On August 18, First Deputy Minister Emine Dzhaparova chaired the Third video meeting of the International Crimea Platform (ICP) focal points network.


Emine Dzhaparova informed in detail about the preparations for the Third Summit of the International Crimea Platform, which will take place on August 23. The First Deputy Minister said that the event will cover a wide range of issues: international security, post-war reconstruction, human rights.


’’I am sincerely convinced that this year's Summit will make an important contribution not only to the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also to the establishment of lasting peace and security in the region and the world’’, – Emine Dzhaparova emphasized.


The participants were also addressed by Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Children's Rights Iryna Suslova, Head of the Crimea Platform Support Service of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Maria Tomak, Head of the Department for Interparliamentary Relations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky, Coordinator of the Working group on Human Rights and IHL of the Crimea Platform Expert Network, NGO ‘’Crimean Human Rights Group’’ Olha Skrypnyk, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Center for Defence Strategies, Head of the security dimension of the ICP Expert Network Alina Frolova, representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine.


They informed the participants about the development of the parliamentary dimension of the ICP, the impact of Russian aggression on security in the Azov and Black Sea region, war crimes and crimes against humanity, various aspects of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, humanitarian and security situation in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in general and in Crimea in particular.


The foreign participants of the video meeting received answers to their questions as well as renewed their assurances of continued support for Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invaders.


For reference: The focal points network of the International Crimea Platform was established in development of the provisions of the Joint Declaration of the Founding Summit of the Platform with the purpose of prompt exchange of positions on topical issues of de-occupation of Crimea, to inform partners about important developments in the temporarily occupied Crimea and to initiate their response to Russia's violation of international law on the peninsula.
