Following the World Health Organization’s official confirmation on May 17, 2026, of an Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainian citizens refrain from traveling to the region affected by the outbreak. The virus is spreading rapidly in the provinces of Ituri and South Kivu.

Ukrainian citizens already in the DRC are advised to:

• refrain from traveling to the aforementioned provinces;
• strictly follow the instructions of local authorities;
• closely monitor official announcements from the Embassy of Ukraine in the DRC.
