On October 24, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of Iceland to Ukraine Fridrik Jonsson.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the Ambassador with the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and expressed confidence in further successful development and strengthening of Ukraine-Iceland relationships.
Yevhen Perebyinis highly appreciated Iceland’s consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the military, financial, humanitarian and technical assistance provided in the face of Russian aggression.
The parties discussed the further development of bilateral relations, Iceland's support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, Peace Formula and Victory Plan of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Fridrik Jonsson assured of Iceland's unwavering support for our country in its fight against the aggressor. He also confirmed the intent to develop and deepen bilateral cooperation.
