On 16 July, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a telephone conversation with the Minister of State for Europe at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Stephen Doughty MP.
Yevhen Perebyinis congratulated his British colleague on his appointment and expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for its strong support for Ukraine in countering the Russian military aggression. The deputy minister positively evaluated the readiness of the newly elected Labor government to continue and strengthen the policy of supporting our state, particularly in the defence area.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral political cooperation, international initiatives in support of Ukraine, further steps for Ukraine to become a member of NATO, and the modalities of concluding the Agreement on a one-hundred-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
The interlocutors noted the importance of the creation of the International Special Tribunal on the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and raised the topic of confiscation of frozen Russian assets.
In turn, Stephen Doughty confirmed the determination of the United Kingdom to continue to provide the necessary comprehensive assistance to our state and deepen the partnership to ensure Ukraine's complete victory over the aggressor.
