Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with a delegation of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence of the Norwegian Storting (Parliament), headed by the Chair of the Committee, Ine Eriksen Søreide.
Yevhen Perebyinis welcomed the broad cross-party representation within the delegation, emphasizing that it demonstrates Norway's political unity in supporting Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for the decision adopted by the Storting parties to allocate 85 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately 9 billion USD) in grant assistance to Ukraine in 2026. This funding includes provisions for budget support, the PURL initiative, gas imports, and the repair of energy equipment.
Yevhen Perebyinis briefed the delegation in detail on Ukraine's priorities for the current year, emphasizing the urgent needs in the energy sector and military-technical support. The Deputy Minister called on the Norwegian parliament to continue supporting the efforts of the Ukrainian and Norwegian governments to develop defense industrial cooperation and attract Norwegian investments into the Ukrainian economy.
The parties paid special attention to holding Russia accountable for its crimes against Ukraine and Norway's practical participation in this process.
