On May 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis had a meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Simonas Šatunas.

Prior to the meeting, Yevhen Perebyinis and Simonas Šatunas paid tribute to the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian diplomat praised the political and military support of the Lithuanian side to Ukraine in the context of Russia's ongoing aggressive war against Ukraine.

The parties discussed the issue of strengthening defence assistance and Lithuania's participation in the post-war reconstruction of our country.

Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its active and consistent position in supporting Ukraine's European integration goals, in particular, active advocacy within the EU for the earliest possible formal start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of implementing the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the participation of the President of Lithuania in the Global Peace Summit.
