On June 18, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Ukraine Audencio Contreras Gonzalez.

The Deputy Minister expressed her gratitude to Mexico for its consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within international organizations amidst Russian aggression.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the strengthening and intensification of bilateral relations, primarily in the political and economic spheres.

Iryna Borovets also expressed her appreciation for Mexico's participation in the Global Peace Summit, which reaffirms its commitment to the principles of the UN Charter. She emphasized the importance of joint efforts in establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The diplomats further discussed Ukraine's cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries and the possibilities for further development of bilateral relations.
