For reference: According to UN estimates, 14.6 million people in Ukraine, or nearly 40% of Ukraine's population, will require humanitarian aid in 2024. In January, the 2024 UN strategic humanitarian documents for Ukraine - the United Nations Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan and the Regional Refugee Response Plan for assistance to Ukrainians abroad - were presented in Geneva, which will allocate $4.2 billion to support war-affected communities and Ukrainian refugees. This assistance will, among other things, include such areas as accommodation of IDPs, support for education and health care, food security, legal aid, child protection, and mining action.
