On May 29, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets held a working meeting with Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Fan Xianrong. She emphasized the importance of supporting international initiatives aimed at establishing an equitable  peace in Ukraine in accordance with the fundamental principles of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula.

Iryna Borovets highlighted the importance of China's participation in the inaugural Global Peace Summit scheduled for June 15-16, 2024 in Switzerland. The summit is intended to serve as a platform for discussing a vision of equitable and lasting peace.

The Deputy Minister expressed hopes for China’s future support for Ukraine's initiatives through international organizations and for China’s active participation in addressing human rights violations in Ukraine caused by the prolonged Russian aggression within the framework of the United Nations.

Ambassador Fan Xianrong expressed readiness to continue constructive dialogue across all aspects of bilateral relations and further support for peace initiatives on the international stage.
