On April 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Estonia Hanno Pevkur.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed deep gratitude to Estonia for its consistent and comprehensive support of Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He particularly noted Estonia’s leadership, as it ranks among the top countries in the world in terms of assistance to Ukraine relative to its GDP.
The Deputy Minister thanked the Estonian side for its active participation in key international initiatives, in particular PURL, the Drone Coalition, and the IT Coalition, as well as for its significant contribution to the training of Ukrainian military personnel and programs for their rehabilitation and medical treatment.
The interlocutors paid special attention to discussing the current security situation in Ukraine and the region. The parties also exchanged assessments of existing and potential threats to European security posed by the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the interlocutors welcomed the adoption by the EU Council of the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Government of Estonia for its consistent support of the European Union’s sanctions policy, as well as for the decision to ban entry into the country for Russian military personnel.
The Minister of Defence of Estonia reaffirmed unwavering support for Ukraine and readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defence.
